With all the technology in the world now we are less calm than the generation before us.  In our generation we mostly write all our essays and papers and things like that on a computer.  So when that breaks we are start stressing out because we aren’t able to finish writing that paper that is due tomorrow it is going to stress us out.  In Sam Anderson’s “In Defense of Distraction”, Sam says “ Meditation can make your attention less ”sticky,” able to notice images by in such quick succession that regular brains would miss them.”  What Sam is saying here is that we need to get away from this technology and let our minds relax.  We rarely let our minds have that mental health day.  Experts say that you need to take to take a mental health day every once in awhile to allow our bodies and minds recharge.  During this day you don’t want to look at a single piece of technology, you want to get away from the outside world.  Go enjoy nature and take a walk or something to get some fresh air.  This will allow our minds to recharge and calm down.  Our brains have evolved with this advancement in technology to allow all this information to be received.  If we were able to just take a break for a little bit from the technology we would live a better life.  It would allow our lives to be less stressful.  Having the technology around means that you are always receiving information from the web and that could be a good thing but, it can also be a bad thing.  One thing that is bad would be if you finally got to the weekend and you are about to have your first day off all week and you get that email from your boss saying that you need to complete this task by the end of the weekend.  If this happens it would mean that you are working seven days that week and you don’t get to relax your mind.  But, some people may disagree that technology is weakening our minds.  The good thing about technology advancing would be that you are able to connect with the outside world even if you were on the other side of the world.
