1.  To achieve the goal revising my essay I allow my roommates and my other friends read over the essay to see if there are any local revisions that I need to make throughout it.  When I am doing global revisions I have one of my friends that is in the class with me read it over.  I do this since he knows what the topics of the essay is.  If the person that I allowed to read it didn’t know what it was about I would have to explain it to them before they start reading the essay.  But if they just start reading the essay they should just know what the essay is due to my first paragraph.  But if they read it and don’t understand it there is a problem there.  That would mean that I didn’t do my job as a writer to introduce the reader to the essay.  A new writing strategy that I would like to develop is to write one paragraph a night till the essay is complete.  This will allow me to focus on that one paragraph and make it the best it could be without worrying about the other paragraphs.
  2. Being able to integrate someone else’s ideas into a summary is a major piece in writing.  Using quotes also plays a huge role.  When using quotes it allows the reader’s to read a small sentence of what the author wrote.  Quotes allow the writer to expand on a thought.  If it wasn’t for quotes reading someone’s essay would probably be pretty boring.  So having this in mind I want to integrate more quotes into my essay’s.  In an essay you want to summarize the least possible amount.  This is because all you are doing is writing what the writer already wrote.
  3. The way I approached essay in this English class and every English class I have ever been in is that I read it one time through without writing any notes or anything like that.  I believe this is a good strategy for me because it allows me to think about the essay after I have read it.  Then I read it a second time through and that is when I start writing on the sides.  When you read something multiple times you think about something new of what you just read.  I love the piece of writing that I am reading more each time I read it.
  4. Peer review I think is one of my favorite things to do when I am writing an essay.  This allows me to receive feedback before I was to hand in a paper.  During these peer review sessions I believe that I have gotten a lot out of them.  I like it when my peers correct my essay a lot because it makes me go back and look over the whole essay and see what I did wrong and how I can improve it.
  5. I have trouble with documenting my work. Sometimes I just don’t know how to document it.  I realize that I need it to be documented but sometimes I don’t know the correct way to document it.  So I will have to look over notes on using the correct MLA formula.  Also, when we do peer review my peer’s help me out with the proper way to cite work.
  6. When I get to the point of when I need to correct my sentence level errors I have a second pair of eyes look it over.  When I read my own work over I know what I want to say when I read the sentence over so if I miss a world I will say that to myself when I read it but it won’t be there.  That is why having a second pair of eyes looking at it is critical.  They won’t know what you want to say since they aren’t the ones that wrote it so then they are able to help you.
